University of Limerick StudentsÄô Union, are currently recruiting for the following position: Clubs & Societies Coordinator.
University of Limerick StudentsÄô Union, soon to be rebranded as ÄúUL Student LifeÄù, is the representative body for over 14000 students. Currently there are 84 Clubs & Societies with a membership of over 5000 people supporting by more than 700 volunteer committee members. The Clubs & Societies Coordinator is part of the Student Engagement Team. The position is full time, core office hours with a requirement for flexibility to work some unsocial hours as and when required.
Main Purpose of the role:
Support the Clubs & Societies Department in the development of student led Clubs & Societies.
Providing administrative assistance, guidance & support to the committee/members of ULSU Clubs and Societies
Support the implementation of organisations Strategic Plan ÄúTaking Giant Steps 2016-2020Äù
Start-up new Clubs & Societies, providing advice and support in accordance with the process and procedure.
Clubs & Societies Appraisals Äìidentify C&SÄôs in need of review and support. To collate comparative documents and write up reports of same.
Work in conjunction with Head of Student Engagement on disciplinary procedures re grievances and disputes.
Health & Safety Äì policies, procedures, workshops and Foreign Trips
Organise and administrate events requiring a high degree of personal initiative and responsibility i.e. Societies of UL Arts Fest, Annual C&S internal Awards System, C&S delegations to Board of Irish Colleges events
Budget & Financial
Attend/Assist Re Clubs & Society Executive Meetings & Council meetings
Manage and process insurance policies and claims on behalf of Clubs & Societies.
Membership of the Student Engagement Working Group, implementing the organisational Strategic Plan
Support C&S applications to the UL Presidents Volunteer Award – monitor and approval of C&S volunteering
Qualifications & Experience Required:
A 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline
Experience of working with students, preferably in a 3rd level environment
A proven track record of commitment to equality and diversity
Minimum of 2 yearsÄô experience in a similar environment.
An empathetic approach to listening, advising and problem solving.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite and sage software
Experience of involvement with a StudentsÄô Union or similar membership organisation is desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work flexibly, manage working time effectively and prioritise projects appropriately.
Full clean driving license
This is a full time position within the University of Limerick StudentsÄô Union and is on offer as an initial 12-month contract. Salary scale Ç¨32,444 – Ç¨44,299.
